The Brain Repair And Intracranial Neurotherapeutics (BRAIN) Unit based at the University Hospital of Wales Cardiff, is a research organisation working to develop new therapies for brain diseases.
Mission
Create an eye-catching space to promote the work of the BRAIN Unit to members of the public passing through the Neurology department, incorporating practical areas for staff to post information relating to their ongoing work.
Subtly blended colours from stakeholder brands, combined with topical imagery, created a unique identity for BRAIN.
The corridor was carefully surveyed and panel sizes determined so as to liaise with our production department and provide the client with an accurate design and installation quotation. The existing brands of stakeholders Cardiff University and Health and Care Research Wales were considered prior to design work commencing, so as to be subtly referenced whilst still achieving a unique look and feel for The BRAIN Unit. Spaces were left for the practical purpose of pin-boards relating to each board’s sub-topic area.
Outcome
The twenty metre walkway has been transformed from its former beige-self, into an informative and vibrant environment to travel through. Minimal expenditure has resulted in a positive improvement to the public-facing image of The Unit and engagement of the public with it.
